Wild Adventures Theme Park - Located just north of the Florida state line, in Valdosta, Georgia. The park features over 50 rides and attractions for the entire family, including several more serious roller coasters. The large Splash Island Water Park is perfect to enjoy on a hot summer day.

There are plenty of attractions for the kids, including several kiddie rides and a carousel. The most popular is the petting zoo and bird sanctuary, where children can interact with and feed the birds and farm animals. There is a safari ride and wild animal shows with tigers, giraffes and other exotic animals. Wild Adventures has exciting events taking place all year, including concerts, Halloween "Terror in the Wild" and Thanksgiving and Christmas events. The park is clean and offers a great full day experience for the whole family and, best of all, it's about an hour drive from several of our properties.

Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens - This large zoo sits at the mouth of the Trout River in Jacksonville, Florida. This zoo is over 115 acres and proudly displays over 2,000 animals and 1,000 plants for your scenic experience. There are many exotic animals on site, including tigers, elephants, jaguars, apes, kangaroos, and Asian otters. There is also a great exhibit featuring animals native to the state of Florida.

The zoo has received many awards for its conservation efforts, including extensive breeding programs. There is a Children's Play Park, featuring an outdoor jungle gym, hedge maze and petting zoo. There are also large saltwater tanks which provide a petting experience to marine life such as stingrays. There is even a train ride, which offers a great way to experience the zoo for the whole family.

Madison Blue Springs - This beautiful fresh water spring is just minutes away from several of our properties. Madison Blue Springs was voted the "Number One Swimming Hole in the United States" by USA Today in 2015. The spring flows just a few feet into the Withlacoochee River. This same river is very near many of our properties. Madison Blue Springs is located approximately ten miles east of Madison, Florida and is a Florida State Park. This means it is well maintained and safe.

The Museum of Florida History - This is the official history museum for the State of Florida. The walk-thru museum displays an assortment of artifacts covering Florida's history and prehistory. Opened in 1977, the Museum of Florida History is located in downtown Tallahassee, just a couple blocks from the State Capital Building. There is a great collection of antique vehicles and even "Grandma's Attic" for the kids. There is a large emphasis towards Native American history, with numerous life-size displays. There are several nice restaurants in the immediate area, which make visiting the museum an enjoyable experience. And of course, entrance to the museum is free for the whole family.

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park - This large park is conveniently located by Interstate 10 in Madison, Florida. It's a very popular North Florida vacation destination. Jellystone has clean cabin and camping accommodations. It’s locally famous for its Water Park’s 60’ slide, lazy river and safe gradual entry swimming pool. It also has many more indoor/outdoor activities like gem-mining, putt-putt, kayak rentals and Jellystone Theater. Laundry facilities and a convenience store with sundries, propane and Hunt Brothers Pizza keep all conveniences in walking distance.

Tallahassee Museum - This 52 acre museum is just west of Tallahassee, near the Tallahassee Airport. Much of the museum is themed around the re-creation of rural life in north Florida around the 1880s. Another large portion of the museum is centered on wildlife native to Florida. There are many animals such as black bears, white-tailed deer, bobcats, red wolves and Florida panthers. The animals have large habitats which are very similar to their native habitats. To add some excitement to the museum, there is a zip slide system which runs through large portions of the museum. There are beginning level zip slides, and more advanced levels. The museum offers plenty to do all day for the whole family.

Florida Saltwater Fishing - According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Florida is the fishing capital of the world. Much of this is due to the enormous salt water fishing opportunities Florida has to offer. The Florida coast line can be reached from all of our properties in about 30 minutes to an hour drive. The Perry Flats are probably the best saltwater fishing spot closest to our properties. This year-round fishing area is known for a huge variety of fish including sea trout, redfish, grouper, sheepshead, Spanish mackerel, flounder, tarpon and more.

Maclay Gardens - Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park includes one of the nicest walks you will ever take. Originally founded and named "Killearn Plantation" in 1923, it was a summer home to Alfred B. and Louise Maclay. Today the adjacent acreage is known as the exclusive Killearn Estates neighborhood of Tallahassee, Florida. Mostly noted for its exclusive botanical garden, Maclay Gardens is a 1,176 Acre State Park that also has a picnic area with a playground, a lake with canoe and kayak rentals, and trails for hikers, bicyclists and equestrians.

St. George Island - A beautiful beach hotspot in the North Florida Panhandle area. The beaches often provide clear water and good waves. There is an "Old Florida" feel to the island, which is known for its large sand dunes and sea oats throughout its 28 mile stretch.

With close proximity to the world famous Apalachicola Bay, fresh seafood restaurants are plentiful in the area. There are jet ski and boat rentals available, offering fun for the whole family. Beach houses can be rented for longer stays. Saltwater fishing is popular, either by boat or surf fishing. A state park is located on the east side of the island, providing a more natural experience. The island is close to The City of Apalachicola, which provides many historic sightseeing opportunities.

Wakulla Springs State Park - This is one of the largest and deepest freshwater springs in the world. The park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is designated as a National Natural Landmark. Eight movies have been filmed in Wakulla Springs, most notably, “The Creature from the Black Lagoon,” and “Tarzan.” Enjoy swimming and snorkeling in crystal blue waters. Guided riverboat tours offer scenic views of wildlife, including large alligators, numerous species of birds and more. When the water is clear, glass bottom boat tours are offered. The elegant Wakulla Springs Lodge, which was built in 1937, offers a full-service dining room. There are also lodging accommodations.

Jacksonville City & Beach - This culturally rich city is only a 1-2 hour drive from most of our properties. Jacksonville has it all: great restaurants, award winning beaches, a 2 mile boardwalk on the famous St. Johns River, 2 large shopping malls and so much more. There are 2 US Navy bases in Jacksonville, offering scenic experiences for the whole family.

There are award winning hospitals, colleges, and theaters. The city is known internationally for its golfing opportunities. There are many cultural and artistic events throughout the year, including the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, which is the second-largest jazz festival in the nation. And to top it off, Jacksonville International Airport provides opportunities for the international traveler.

Forest Capital State Museum - This 13 Acre Florida State Park is located 1 mile south of Perry on Highway 98. The museum is themed around the history of Florida's forest industry. There is a Cracker-style homestead, which was built in 1864. It includes a barn, house, well, garden, and arbor. Cracker is one of the first architectural styles from 19th century Florida. Variations of this architectural style are still popular in Florida today. The museum has a park with covered pavilions, which make this a nice location for a picnic.

Florida Caverns - These gorgeous caverns are located in Marianna, Florida, which is about a one hour drive west of Tallahassee. The Florida Caverns project was started by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt just before WWII. The caverns look the same now as they did then; and are still the only accessible caverns in the state of Florida. Tours of the caverns are offered by the Park Rangers, and take about 1 hour. The park hosts many other activities such as picnicking, swimming, camping, canoeing, kayaking, wildlife viewing, hiking, biking and equestrian trails.
